small act can mean a lot...

It's hard getting up for work when everyone else gets to stay home and sleep in. The kids had the day off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Craig was working from home and I had to go to work. The only good thing about this was I didn't have to get up so early to get myself off to work.

I was on my way to work and wanted to stop at our local On the Run to get a soda. As I was turning into the parking lot this guy flagged me down. I stopped and rolled down my window. He began to tell me his van is by the gas pump, he had no money to get gas for his van so he could get to work and if I had any change to spare.

I had about $3.00 on me. So I reached into my pocket and gave him what I had. As I drove into my parking spot I saw this man at the register handing the clerk the $3 for gas. I swiftly walked into the store and gave the clerk my visa card. I told her to put $20 on pump 7 for this man.

He was in shock. He then tried to give me back my $3 and I told him to keep the money and buy himself some lunch. He filled his tank and off he drove.

After I got myself my soda I left with a warm feeling in my heart. I thought what a great way to start my day. No matter how bad my day was at work I made sure it didn't bother me knowing I had made someone else's day brighter.
