I was thinking tonight about today's generation. They must have their heads put on straight then what I had growing up. Ashlee has decided to take summer school. She is taking Economics and Government. These classes she could take next year but she wanted to take them during the summer to get them over. Ok that's a good thing, thinking maybe it will free up her senior year so she can "play"around and enjoy her last year. In my daughters case that is not it! She took those two classes so she could fill up those two spots with other classes. Some AP classes that should count for college credits. When I was her age this would have never crossed my mind. My mind was summer vacation is for friends, beach, movies, sleeping etc etc.. Then my last year of school was take the minimal classes and that was less stressful, like bowling, double work experience, beginners math etc etc. I do have to admit I am proud of her for making right choices and for thinking of her future. She has a goal to be a veterinarian and she is working hard to achieve that goal. Then I am sure once she reaches it she will take care of her good ol' mom...or put me in the nursing home she already has picked out. Time will tell.
