Well, yesterday was the first day of school for my children. It was such a hectic day with Craig leaving for Texas, the kids getting off at their right times, and then myself to work I didn't have the energy to blog. I am now getting some free time to tell about our first few days of school.
Ashlee began her JR year. She has to be at seminary at 7 am and then off to school from there. Her schedule is AP History, CP Chem, AP Spanish 4, English 2, Intermediate Dance, Algebra 2. No time to play for her this year, but I am sure she will find time. She said her second day went well and the time flew.
Cody started 9th grade. His classes are Algebra 1, Geography, French, Biology, Robotics, English, and Baseball. This is his first year of seminary too. Today was a hard day for him. He is beginning to feel the pressure of High School. Cody was getting stressed out because all he has heard from his teachers are, "Your grades count, if you don't do well you wont get to go to college." Poor Cody, he internalizes everything. He tends to make things worse then what they really are. He got himself sick this morning and I had to go and pick him up from school.
This year Jessie will start a new school. I went and met her teacher yesterday on my lunch hour. Her teacher seems like she really enjoys her job. I think Jessie will have a good time in her class. Jessie also loves to ride on the bus.
Preston is in 4th grade and he loves his class. He's mostly excited about no homework every night. He will get homework on Monday and it's not due until Friday. I kind of like that idea, but knowing our family we will wait until Thursday night to do it. I will try not to procrastinate. We live so close to his school he can walk there, but he rather ride his bike. I am glad we don't have to worry so much about kids taking buses. Only Jessie's and her bus comes right to our door.
I am happy to get back into a routine. Summer lounging gets redundant. I was able to stay home today due to a leaky pipe. I had to wait for a plumber to come and fix the leak. It was the main pipe in the front yard. I thought maybe we could call the home warranty but the warranty doesn't cover outside issues only inside the house. Bummer. But back to where I was going. I liked staying home. I was able to get the kitchen cleaned up. Make dinner at a decent time for the kids. I do have to admit though I was bored for awhile. I do like my job, but I love being a mom and a wife.
